Gerard KilBride is a violin Maker, restorer, researcher and musician from South East Mid Wales. He graduated from The Newark School of Violin Making in 1991, and lives and works in the Beautiful Black Mountains in South East Mid Wales where he continues to concentrate on making bespoke new instruments which are heavily influenced by the Early English Makers, with beautiful light varnishes, highlighting honest clean craftsmanship, creating a warm colourful sound.
He is a global expert on violin bridges and created the long running research project at archive.violinbridges.co.uk alongside the Seminal Book “Violin Bridges” – a photographic journey celebrating wonderful encounters with great violin bridges.
